Electro Harmonix Metal Muff/ Top Boost

I used to have a Boss MT-2 Metal Zone pedal. I loved the sound, but it was hard to find good settings. If one of the knobs was turned slightly it sounded quite bad.

That's not the case with the Metal Muff. The knobs can be in almost any position and it still sounds good or OK. I would say that it is a good metal pedal, in fact the best I've tried so far, but I'm sure there are better ones.

Something that I find lacking in many distortion pedals is that the sound when playing palm muted is very thin. That's something that the Metal Muff is good at.

I didn't find the top boost function useful at all. It makes it sound shrill. I can recommend this pedal!

An extreme distortion pedal that can achieve lots of different distortion tones.

The amount of treble you can get with this thing is far beyond ridiculous. The amount of treble available isn't very practical unless you want to abolish your or some other person?s hearing abilities. At the same time it is better that you can get to much than to little.

I have used this little box on black metal albums through various amps and have managed to get quite alright sounds with it.

The quality is great and the pedal has served me well though the several years it has been at my disposal. The only problems I have had with it have been caused by my own moments of stupidity and thus that can not be blames on the Metal Muffin.

It does what it needs to do and much more than that as well.
