A desperate attempt to bring my acoustic back to life...

My main acoustic guitar has served me well over the years but during the last year I've felt that the tone sounded quite dull and dead.
I had read that brass pins could have some impact on the sound of the guitar so I decided to try dAndreas bride pins out.

After replacing the strings and playing it (as a control-test) I then changed the string plugs and played it again. The difference in sound and tone was HUGE to me.

The sustain is improved, the guitar is louder and the tone feels bigger in the low end and more accentuated in the high-end.

I wish I had something negative to say about these brass pins to balance this review but I really haven't...

Great product, I will definitely buy these for all my current and future acoustics.

Fiddly but does the trick

These pins are a nice touch towards making an instrument unique. They look the part and are sturdy bits of kit.

I did find that putting them in the first few times was troublesome; the material they are made is just a little less grippy than most, so needed pushing in very securely. These may be unsuitable for poor quality bridges. Other than this very satisfied.

Bought it for a Yamaha FG820 and while they look nice and really lift the looks of the guitar to another level, they do not fit in the pin holes all the way down like the original pins, as there is about a 3 millimeter gap left which leaves the pins higher than the originals an so it slightly changes the palm-muting comfortability. Could be remedied by widening the bridgepin holes or filing down the pins themselves, but I couldn't be bothered. For other guitars they might be a perfect fit. No oxidation after 2 years of use. Here's the measurements I took:
5,5mm = width of the wide upper end of the pin insert
9mm = pin head
27,5mm = total height

I bought these to replace the beat up plastic ones on my takemine. They look really good and hold the strings in place well. I have'nt noticed too much difference in sound but they look great.
