Yamaha recorders from the 30 Series are specially designed for beginners. Offering the ideal amount of air resistance for easy control of the tone, they also feature the kind of accuracy of intonation you would expect to find on more expensive models. Although other plastic recorders may have a similar appearance, Yamaha's ABS recorders are a step above the standard. For the advanced player, the arched windway, which is characteristic of the 30 Series, offers improved breath control and a clearer tone.

A good recorder for anyone

It's a good recorder for anyone, doesn't mather if you're a beginner looking for your first recorder, or a seasoned player who wants a training tool. Good sound and well tuned (for a plastic recorder). Only negative is the condensation problem, but you will have that with most plastic instruments. Just follow the guidelines for how to minimize the condensationproblem on youtube.

You can't go wrong with Yamaha 30 series. Very nice quality recorder, made in Japan. It's a very good starting kit for kids or anyone else who wants to learn. I do not recommend going below this model, as the price is low enough to be the first choice.

School recorder for beginners

I choose this brand because it's super durable. My very first Yamaha recorder brought 20+ years ago and it still works fine. Recommended for school kids.
