Let me first say that these are great strings. Good quality and nice tone. Not as thumpy as ordinary flatwounds, but have more sustain and overtones, and a pure pitch.
The problem I have with these is the unbalanced and unconsistent feeling. They feel like they are two different sets. The G and D strings are tightly wound and prefecly smooth, almost like solid strings. But the A and E have gaps in the winding that make them feel a bit rough, rougher than most flatwounds I've tried.
Apart from this, the A string has noticably lower tension than the others, which makes it feel sloppy and also gave me some buzz problems. I have nothing against the overall low tension, but the imbalance between strings is what bothers me. A .075 A string would seem much more logical to me. Unfortunately, Thomastik don't make them.
If all of the strings had the same tension and feeling as the G and D, this would be a perfect set of strings.
