I started playing the alto saxophone as an adult, three years ago, and now I decided to move up (down?) to a Tenor.
I have had this in my possession for a couple of weeks now and so far I am very pleased with it. It sounds good, easy to play, feels solid and the mechanics seems to be in good order.
I see some reviewers mention its weight as a disadvantage. According to my scale it weighs 3.6 Kg, which is just 0.8 kg more than my Alto, so I don't think its a problem. That being said, the attached neck strap is a joke. Like a cheapish luggage strap, guess it works for emergencies but really not comfortable. I am glad I ordered a harness.
My only other concern is the ligature, that doesn't fit very well and feels like it not gonna last very long. I shouldn't go to an important Gig without an alternative.
It is marked TTS-350 antique, so I assume the only difference (besides the price) is the laquer. I think it looks pretty good, I was a little afraid that it would have a "chabby chiq/second hand" kind of appearance but it doesn't. It's just not golden shining.
Whith regards to sound my only remarks are that low Eb is a little flat and High A is a bit "airy/noisy" but I dont know if that depends on me or the saxophone.
So overall I am very happy with it, and thank you Thomann for some good buying advices.
