Pensionerade min gamla kontrabas till förmån för Harley Benton EUB 500 BK. Med tre storbandsrep i veckan och lite gig däremellan behövs ett bra stand till nykomlingen, men det här känns för tungt även om det är extremt stadigt.
I recently got a stagg upright electric bass for my birthday but was very wary of standing it up both at gigs and in the house. I saw this on Thomann and looking at the reviews decided to buy it.
It is very stable and holds my EUB solidly and allows easy access when swapping basses during gigs. The top of the stand is extendable and allows the bass to be held securely due to the swing arm that ensures the neck doesn't come out of the bracket. There is a smaller bracket at the bottom that holds the endpin in one position so ensuring it isn't accidentally kicked over when on stage.
The stand folds down into a reasonably small assembly and we put this in the bag with all the other stands (mics and speakers) so transport isn't an issue for us although some have commented on this as an issue for them, it isn't for me.
The construction is good and a well thought out design which gives reassurance that the EUB is safe and in good hands. Well worth the money and again a great product from Thomann.
If you have a Stagg or Aria electric upright bass, this is THE stand to use. It's not suitable for wider-bodied basses, as it has a narrow cushion mid-way down to hold the body of the bass. Well-made and stable on the floor. I recommend it.
