I changed by vintage output tele bridge pickup for this one. I needed a bit more bite ? or at least the possibility go get it if needed. I can still roll back on the volume to about 70% and get classic/vintage tele tone. But since this is a little bit hotter wound it'll enable a bit extra gnarl when turned full up. I'm super happy about it ? vintage tele tone with an optional extra bite when needed.

Great Seymour Duncan - Jerry Donahue Lead Pickup
Anonym 15.09.2023
It really sounds 60s, vintage classic warm teletwang with lots of bite.
Installed it my Squier Esquier and the guitar has really lifted sonically. Highly recommended.
I use this in my tele with a Duncan antiquity humbucker. Awesome combination. This pickup is great for lead, though at times piercing. At that point though a little EQ adjustment here or there does the trick. I find the sound fantastic sent through an overdrive pedal. Also sounds great fuzzed out.... pretty much just sounds awesome period.
It is for sure a lead pickup. Too bright IMO for most rhythm parts but awesome for leads. If you were going for a really aggressive rhythm though.... might just be your cup of tea. Obviously coming from master of the telecaster jerry donahue its great for serious no BS straight up nashville lead sounds.
The tele I use it in is my main guitar for rock/americana/indie rock/whatever and I am very happy with the choice.
This one made me rediscover the tele after playing for many years on a p90 archtop, the tele now is my main tool. Decent product with g and d magnets rised a bit and a thick brass base plate for a good solid tele sound.
