A
Great no nonsense DI
Anonym 07.04.2016
I needed a DI for studio and live use, and didn?t want to compromise in quality or sound. So far, I?ve been really happy with it. I?ve used it on bass guitar and analog synthesizers, and the RNDI has performed perfectly.
As this is the only DI-box I own, I figured I?d rather have a clean sounding box than one that alters/colors the sound, which is exactly what I got. A nice, clear, uncolored sound, suitable for many styles.

I have yet not tried it between my amp-head and cab, but it?s a great feature that I?ll try the next time I?m playing bass in a live situation. For those of you who haven?t heard of this feature, it can handle the signal from your amplifier, giving you the option of sending your amplified tone to the FOH.

If you need a DI-box with a neutral sound, I can recommend spending the extra bucks for the RNDI for many reasons:
- Top of the line sound
- Top of the line build quality (it?s really sturdy)
- Suitable for many different types of instruments
- Great for both live and studio situations.

If you want a colored sound, I would look for something else, possibly A-Designs REDDI or another tube DI.

Z
Incredible DI
Zello 10.04.2023
For whomever who is looking for a quality DI with the smooth texture of Neve, it's worth its hefty price tag in the long run.

It does what it sets out to do and doesn't disappoint - if you're in the box and looking for a DI to spark up and give life to your bass and guitar, you've found a true companion.

Sturdy built gives confidence not to pull your chain, it's a Neve goddam it!

As good as they say!

Using the RNDI as a clean channel alongside three cab mics for my guitar recordings and it's as good as the reviews tell you. Sturdy with a modern clean looks. For bass it's on par with the Great River 500 unit, ie VERY clean.

K
great, but expensive
Kar0l 30.03.2018
I've been looking for a new DI for tracking bass and guitar. After some hefty research, I narrowed my options down to the following:

- BSS AR133 (EUR 105,-)
- Radial J48 EUR (235,-)
- Neve RNDI (EUR 299,-)

I plugged my Ibanez SR650 into each of these DI's, into my Focusrite 44. I tracked some parts in both active and passive setting. My findings:

BSS AR133: It doesn't look very slick. With its huge rubber sides, it does look indestructible. The sound is clear and transparent, with very low noise.

Radial J48: It looks good, and also definitely feels sturdy enough. The sound is noticeably warmer than the BSS, more analogue sounding. It sounds great, but definitely colored.

Neve RNDI: Looks wise, this is clearly the winner of the three. Like the BSS, it sounds very clear, even, and moderate in the lows.

The BSS and the Neve sound the most natural and clear, which is what I am looking for in a DI. I want the cleanest sound possible to feed to a pre-amp. However, the sound difference between these two is very small to my ears. So small, that it doesn't warrant the price difference.

Hence, my choice is the BSS AR133. It sounds great, is super sturdy, and very affordable. Recommended!
