I record electric guitar and bass, and needed a sleek, bus-powered interface with two DI inputs. I returned my SSL2+ and got this instead.
Pros:
- Incredible sound quality and zero latency. Works great with amp sims
- Looks amazing, feels amazing. High quality buttons and knobs
- Sturdy aluminium case, very mobile. Even comes with a case
- Small footprint
- Optional bus- or adapter power
Cons:
- Unintuitive, not user friendly. Not for beginners
- No free plugins included, which most interfaces come with nowadays
- Headphone inputs are not for the same type
- No off-button
Verdict: If you have money to spend and time/energy to learn TotalMix and its functions, this is the best interface you can get for the price. I feel the program, user interface and overall instructions are dated, unnecessarily unintuitive and quite frankly, bad. If you close TotalMix, you have to reboot the computer to open it again. Sometimes it doesn't start at all. Minus one star on features because you can only use one pair of studio headphones at a time. I need two. Another star off because of the unintuitive controls. For this price I demand more from the product.
If you just want a basic plug and play interface, look elsewhere.
