I bought these sticks originally because of the styling and the guy that they are named after. They have a nice smooth finish with retro styling. The sticks feel unusually light in the hand despite their size and thickness. I enjoyed playing with them, they feel a tad bit lighter than the Vic Firth 5Bs in my opinion.
I was however a bit disappointed with the sturdiness of my pair. I used these for about a 2 hour practice jam and by the end of it they weren’t usable anymore. Although this is likely a consequence of my playing, which is a bit heavy handed.
All in all I recommend these sticks because of their styling and the legacy they carry. But I wouldn’t recommend them to someone looking for a pair of sticks that should be as resilient as possible.
Give them a try!
