This little thing might seem intimidating at first, but when you get into how it works, everything runs smoothly for the most part. The sound quality is great and it's easy to use the sequencer due to the touch pads. You can mute channels, chain patterns together and use motion sequencing to record changes to the dials.
Transferring samples is a breeze using the Korg Librarian tool which hooks up via USB to your computer. You can save project files with your favorite samples and then send them back to the Volca. Easy as pie!
For the price you are paying, I will have to give it an overall 4-star review, because it's not without it's negative sides.
One other thing I really don't like is that when using the sequencer and placing notes, you really can't preview what pitch/note you are playing. You have to run the playback and adjust the pitch while looping the sequence. If it would just automatically playback the sound while turning the pitch knob...
Motion sequencing which records changes you make to any of the dials, only records a full 16 steps before turning itself off. I would have wished for it to continue until I choose to turn it off.
Overall I have to say that I really like this thing. The small size and tight layout makes it easy to want to start exploring it.
