For the price, just wow

I haven't interacted with too many 1176-style hardware units before, mainly the warm audio. I bought this one on account of its pricetag, really undercutting all the competition. With my experience of 1176-style modules I really find it competing with the sound of other modules. Unless I buy another (far more expensive) version I don't see myself disregarding it. The build quality feels reassuring and the sound is great.
In my opinion this unit is a definite recommendation for any mixer, as it delivers characteristics of compression most plugin-manufacturers haven't been able to capture. All this whilst being really affordable, and none the less a resource for the physical response that buttons and knobs gives you.

Probably the best of the bunch

The 1176 clone is great for what it is. It is a reproduction of a very old circuit which makes it: not so full of features, rather high noise floor by modern standards and big(!).
Personally I wish they would have made their own spin on the concept bringing the size and noise floor down. But as it is it sounds great.
