I have played the violin since the age of 5, and I am now 38, so I have used a lot of different violin cases. I bought this for my daughter, and a similar one for myself in another colour. Both me and my daughter frequently go by bus and train with our instruments, so we were looking for a small and lightweight case. Also, my daughter needs a case that can fit in her locker at school. Since we usually bring a backpack with us all the time, none of us really needed space for notes in the case. I think that this case is the best I've seen/used so far.
Good things about this case:
+ Small, so it's easy to bring with you on travels
+ Lightweight
+ The bow holders are really good and protective
+ The case is made from sustainable materials
+ A variety of nice colours to choose from
+ The case feels sturdy and protects the instrument
+ Good price!
Cons:
- The space to keep rosin etc is very small (not a problem for my daughter)
- If you have a big shoulder rest, you might have problems fitting it (not a problem for my daughter)
- The buckles are made of plastic, time will tell if they will last
All in all, my daughter is really happy about this case. It's easy for her to take carry, and it fits in her school locker. If you are looking for a small and lightweight case, and if you have a smaller shoulder rest (my daughter has a Viva Musica Professional), you will be really happy with this case. But if you have a big shoulder rest and need space for notes in the case, you should probably look for something else.
