Not wanting to spend to much on a guitar I wasnt sure I was gonna play every day, 189 euro was money i was willing to part with for fun. I read and read and watched pretty much every youtube video possible before placing my order.
Build. The guitars black paint on the plastic parts on the back has some very minor signs of fabrication/assembly and the overall gloss of the paintjob show some inconsistencies on the back but nothing major.
The fretboard looks nice with a slightly darker colour than on the images. The necks has a good feel to it, not to polished or rough.
The dots on the side of the neck arent to nicely inlayed and for every fret you can see a small cut but nothing that bothers me. Keep in mind that you paid 189 euro.
Im new to 8 strings and to fanfrets but as a beginner I can play this just as easily as normal frets, there Isnt really any need to adjust your left hands positioning. At least when you play as poorly as i do.
Bending feels the same as a straight fret and the different scale lenght on the strings gives a good feel to the strings.
The 1st frets fanned shape makes it a bit tricky to get the clean "djenty" tone but im sure you could fix that with some more skill and higher gain than me.
The action is decently low. When i got mine, the F# string gave of a horrendous fret buzz and i thought i was gonna have to raise the entire action but it seems as the string it came
with had been cut poorly at the tuners and the string had suffered.
A new, same gauge string solved the issue right away. Ive yet to try and tune it in a dropped E since the string change, I tried to proir to the string change but my clip on tuner didnt register the note properly ;)
Its seems to stay ok in tune, bare in mind ive only had it for two days and i have no idea how long the string been on the guitar but they dont seem to "dead".
Conclusion: You know you wont be opening for meshuggah any day soon and thats ok, you've got a new toy for 189 euro, the next step up on thomann is like twice that cost.
If you are curious about extended range guitars this might be a good start!
