For hardware stands, cymbal holders, extenders etc. I must admit I am a fan of Gibraltar. They do the job without any unnecessary fuss. This stand is no exception, which I use for my third kit in a lighter jazz setup where weight and portability is of the essence.
Granted a stand still needs to be able to hold at least a cymbal, some poise and authority is still needed, and there are no problems for me having a heavy 20" ride on the boom leaning in from my right.
Here we have double-braced legs, a boom and more than sufficient height to raise above the little 4-piece I use it for. Compared to the heavier 9000-series (which I have for another kit) this is indeed very lightweight, meaning I can easily carry all my hardware (drum throne included) in a hardware bag without wheels with one hand only. And the bag is filled with snare stand and throne from the same series, a few 4709 stands, lightweight pedal and hihat-stand.
I have all I need for now, but would not hesitate to get more of these if I need something light and robust.
