Lovely shine and sizzle

I bought these as replacements for stock pickups in my mexico Standard Stratocaster.

They have a lovely high frequency shine that make them very present but still quite soft in the high mids. Sounds very sweet to my ear, especially the neck and mid pickups have that beautiful sizzle on the top.

Some people may find the bridge pickup a bit bright but i like the way it cuts through in an indie-rock setting. Like I said, it has a lot of presence but not too much harsh mids.

I should also mention that I play only with a cleanish/crunchy sound through a small tube combo which in itself compresses and smoothes out the high end somewhat. In that context it works very well for some jangly and spunky rhythm tones á la Henrix, Stones etc. If you're into more modern distorted sounds i think you would have a problem with the top end sizzle though.

Summary; I love these for what I use them for!

Nice pickup set

A very warm, but sharp sounding pp set by fender. The bridge is quite bright, the middle sounds really warm, round, and jazzy, while the neck is deep, bluesy. I think there must be better sets out there, but I haven't tried all of them. After using a telecaster with duncan designed sets this set with my 2017 MIM standard sounds a bit different, not as twangy, not as detailed but something with a cool character. After all it's a good and reasonable choice, but I suggest, that if you have the opportunity check the available spare sets, then choose wisely. I have a very firm vision about my desired sound, so I'll search further and sell this three. But I must underline that again: good sounding set, though not exactly for my ears.

Get that vintage strat sound easily.

Love these pickups. I swapped the stock pickups out of my Made in Mexico Stratocaster for these, and what a difference! The muddiness is gone, and the bridge pickup has much more of a classic Strat sound. Note that the middle pickup is not reverse polarity, so if you wire these according to the standard diagrams, you'll still get hum in the 2 and 4 switch positions. If you want hum cancellation in 2 and 4, you can always reverse the hot and ground wires for the middle pickup, but I prefer the vintage setup. A lot of hum issues can be addressed with shielding and is only an issue on high gain stuff!

I've always played heavier music, in drop tunings and with EMG pickups. I've played more "classic" songs with the EMG setup and sure it sounds great, but it doesn't really sound authentic to that style of music.

The 57/62 Vintage pickup set just sounds.... amazing! These pickups are made for songs like "Sultans of Swing", any John Mayr song, blues, jazz, Brian May riffs, and so on.

The design or look of these pickups is just sexy. They look vintage as fuck and are just so beautiful, fits a stratocaster perfectly!

The sound is authentic and vintage, but manages to sing in a more modern style as well. The versatility of this pickup set is extraordinary.

Highly recommend this set of pickups for basically any style of music except for metal and heavier styles of music.
