Use it on a p-bass and get some amazing metal sound with it. Super nice feeling at the fingertips. If you play aggressive enough it can get some really angry tone.
This is the first set of bass strings I've used that I've actually noticed a significant difference in my sound, other than flatwounds and the like. There's a certain spank that these strings have that I really enjoy. I can dig in with my fingers a bit more than normal and there is a reciprocal response. I have not tried these in a band setting but I am more than confident that they will cut appropriately.
I play hard, I break strings. People say it's bad technique. I'm just living life. I break a string or 2 pretty much every week. I've been questing for big boi strings which won't crumple and break in the face of doom riffs in a matter of minutes. DR Fat Beams have proved to be the biggest toughest bois of them all and last longer than any other strings.
They sound bright without sounding thin and there's great definition to their low end.
If you're playing metal or rock, I'd highly recommend. These boiis will you give you the punchy definition you need in your low mids.
These strings give you a clear slapping tone, with plenty of mids. So no thin, clangy tone. This also makes them great for fingerstyle. On top of that, they last longer than most strings.
