Allen & Heath CQ20B

A nice 4 units high rack mounted mixer for iPad/PC/Mac devices. Many great features like 96khz, auto gain, FBK, multitrack recorder and great presets for all kind of situations.

The CQ20B uses the same fpga circuits as A&Hs bigger brothers like SQ and dLive.

The iPad App can be a bit complex at first sight so some training is required to be able to be fast and get the speed when mixing. The assignable soft buttons can help you to be faster. A limitation is maybe that you can maximum use two devices (like two iPads) to control the mixer, but the iPhone implementation for own monitor mixes allows up to 4 devices.

The WiFi is ok and you can run it in both 5GHz and 2.4GHz. The Bluetooth implementation seems to be a bit weak…for longer distances - a bigger antenna seems to help both the wifi and Bluetooth and make it perfect!

The 4 effects are very good.

With the auto gain feature together with the presets…you can actually setup 16 channels in just minutes!
