Usually a buyer of Dáddarios 010s and 011. After running into three to five sets with bad sounding strings , e-strings having the ball end fall of by unwinding. I decided to experiment a little.
I bought 8 packs of strings
2 x DR Pure Blues 011
2 x Tomastik IN111
2 x Tomastik Infeld "Blues or slide"
and 2 of these.
Its now been a couple of months and I just stringed a second set of these on a maple neck Stratocaster.
Quality is just great. They feel good and sound good.
Output is less than the yellow infelds, but more than dáddarios.
Real sturdy tone, not extremely "bright" as in trebly.
Out of the 4 strings these and the DR are most similar to dáddarios, but both these have a quality that is better and they both last longer. These are brighter in tone than the pure blues.
As they are new these stretch a lot more than daddarios, so it takes a couple of hours before they stay in tune properly.
5 stars means very good. 4 is good, on a 10 grade scale I would give these 8.
And I would rank them
among the top 2 with the DR Pure Blues.
Yelow infelds are really cool but the 011 have a wound g-string, very loud. are 3rd
Tomastik-I slide are 4th
and rank the same as daddarios who match because the price is better. The infelds are better strings though.
