The outer case:
Robust metal case with some weight to it, making it feel very professional.

The box:
The wooden box was alright but the foam inside is too stiff, making it difficult to close the box completely without feeling like you're crushing the mic.

The shock mount:
Good quality, but I had to bend it a little since it was slightly crooked when I got it. Nothing serious though.

Build quality of the mic:
The microphone is fairly heavy and the casing feels very robust. The ribbon is slightly off-set though, which might affect the sound. I only have one, so I can't really compare.

The sound:
I've tried it as a close mic on drum shells, guitars, bass and vocals as well as used it as a mono room mic for drums, guitars and bass. It sounds surprisingly good, considering the price. A thick bottom end and a nice, warm mid-range. It's perfect for instruments where you want to avoid some harsh high frequencies but still want some more oomph. Since the frequency response limits it to below 15 kHz, it's perfect for making a room sound bigger than it really is.

Overall, I think the microphone is great for what it is. A lot of microphone for very little money. I will definitely get another one soon. I recommend using it on clean guitars, bass and room mics, since this is where it really shines.

Jag har många bra kondensatormickar (Milab, Röde, Austrian Audio) men var sugen på att testa en bandmikrofon som komplement. Och det är vad det är: en mörk mikrofon, den går bara upp till 7000 Hz.
Men så länge du vet det kan du använda den av andra skäl - till i stort sett allt: trummor, blås, gitarrförstärkare och sång. Du får då bandmikrofonens musikaliskt behagliga rundade avrullning i diskanten och ingen sibilans, den har helt enkelt inte det registret. Jag lyckas få mycket bra ljud för akustisk gitarr då jag testar att spela in i stereo och använder då RM 700 vid 14:e band i kombination med en sE 7 småmenbransmikrofon. Det låter mycket bra. RM 700 brusar lite grann, men det är inget "fult" brus, helt acceptabelt tycker jag. Så, en mikrofon väl värd att ha. Kanske inte som endamikrofon men som ytterligare en färg på paletten.

I love these microphones cause it offers me the ability to play around with ribbon mikes (which are the best kind of mikes according to my taste) but not having to worry about it beeing expensive and all.

I bought two and took 'em apart and painted them in yellow vs red and with a large "L" and "R" (left and right). This makes it convenient when using them as overheads.

The bass response is massive even outside of the proximity effect distance. This makes them great as a mono mike for drums for instance. Just play around with angeling it and see when it captures the drumset nicely.

Coupled with the bundled jfet lifter it easily picks up the richness from an acoustic piano or faint vocals. Give it a go, you will find a use for it!

Köpte ett par t.bone RM700 för att jag ville testa någonting nytt som rumsmikrofon. Har tidigare använt betydligt dyrare varianter. Men jag måste säga att RM 700 håller otroligt bra klass. Mikrofonen har ett otroligt bra svar i de lägre registret, ett tydligt mellanregister och en mjuk diskantåtergivning. Vid A/B test mot dyrare varianter kunde inte många av mina studiopolare höra skillnad vilket jag tycker är ett oerhört bra betyg för en mikrofon till detta priset. Mikrofonen fungerar även alldeles utmärkt till clean/crunch gitarr och tål ljudvolym bra. Medföljande case+trälåda var av mycket bra och robust kvalité. Så ett tips till alla som letar efter en bra, stryktålig bandmikrofon borde ta en titt på denna. För numera är detta ett förstahandsval hos mig
