I tightened this head until I was afraid I was going to break it. I messed with my drum brain's settings until my own brains were falling out of my ears. Only with the help of Google did I discover the solution. I had to cram the kick drum full of pillows and old blankets to make this head tight enough not to cause a million false triggers a hit.

I probably will not buy this brand of mesh head for my bass drum. For all the other drums, they seem to work great, but for the bass, it just didn't work.
