I have been a long term acoustic kit player and only in the last 5 years have dabbled in electronic kits, never spending too much as I didn't know whether I would like it or not.
Having tried 2 other brand name kits and subsequently selling them, I decided based on many reviews that Roland would be the next choice. As the market leader it did not disappoint. Of course the price margin is up there but you do get what you pay for.
The kit is compact and well made, I love the acoustic look and feel and all the drums and cymbals are very responsive, never missing a beat. The hardware is first class, quality double-braced stands with Roland's signature secure fittings.
My only negative comment, and it's only my personal opinion, is with the sounds from the included kits - I don't like any of them and there isn't one I would pick to play at a gig. That said, the customisation possibilities of the user kits are endless and I have already found a combination that I enjoy playing. Take the time to learn how to get the best out of this kit, do not rely on playing it out of the box.
Looking forward to my first live performance - well done Roland.
