This really is a great all in one solution for keyboard players. Both for playing live and in the studio.
I use it as the heart of my 3 keyboard rig in our rehearsal space. The monitor out is great for when i want to play all three keyboards with headphones, not disturbing the others. This merging cable (193901) does the job perfectly!
For most of the time it is only used as a submixer but it has a lot of tricks up its sleeve. For example, when recording you only need a computer and a usb cable and you're all set.

Superior quality in a compact format

I’m using this to sum up and record a handful of synthesisers. It’s dead quiet and built like a tank. I wish it had a mono switch and the possibility turn off the monitor output (to prevent loud spikes when turning off power). Also a headphone preamp would have been nice. I added these features by purchasing the mc-3, which made it almost as expensive as the kl-8 (which has the features built in). But the compact size of this unit makes it better fit my needs as it doesn’t claim too much of my very limited desk space.
The plastic part of power cord holder was broken on arrival, not a big deal to me but but a dent to my first impression of quality.
Compared to other cheaper mixers I have tried, this one is much more quiet and has superior build quality.
