This LP Guiro is robust and has a very good build quality. It has two rubber rings where it mounts to your fingers which provide comfort when playing and its light as a feather. Being a synthetic guiro made of plastic you won’t get the same sound as a natural guiro tough it does its job quite well and is a bang for a buck. Included you have two scrapers the synthetic provides a bright modern tone and the wood one gives a mellower sound tough I highly recommend you get the Sonor Guiro Scraper for L2621 which provides you with a more “natural” like sound on this Guiro.
I am a lover of Cuban and Brazillian music and bought this for both personal enjoyment and also as a tool to use in music class (I'm a music teacher) . I love that this Guiro is plastic, makes it a long term investment and very realiable. The difference in sound compared to wood is negligible for me... and I'd take the tradeoff in a heartbeat. Also 2 kinds of sticks are provided, NEAT!! This guy stays for life
This is an 'industry standard' seen and heard played by pro latin bands the world over, and it doesn't disappoint. Tough and durable, with a bright sound that can cut through a 17 piece latin big band.
Delivered quickly, no complaints at all!
Durable and well built, it is very lightweight and comfortable to play.
Although it is plastic is will still give a good sound, but if you want a really traditional sound, go for a Guiro that isn't plastic, that being said, this is one of the industry standard Guiros.
great for the type of concerts that I do, live salsa, merengue, cha cha cha, the sounds are tremendous and can be heard well together with congas, saxo, piano and clave. What can I say about the sound. Sounds fantastic when playing merengues or cha cha cha.
From a distance this looks like a gourd guiro, and it sounds reasonably good. It is actually louder than a natural guiro, so perfect for unamplified settings, outside etc. It is also more durable.
I purchased this güiro because of the solid construction and handling. Hopefully it will prove to have good resistance to humidity and temperature changes as well.
I´m not a güiro expert, but to my ears the sound is fantastic.
Can´t wait to record some tracks with it.
