Let's face it, we're all lost in the tone jungle. We all wish for this one pedal, preferably with one switch: Instant great tone. We all are quite prepared to cough up for this pedal. To top that, we all have been dissapointed by pedals that sounded great in the YouTube clip, but sounded meh once we got to the rehearsal studio.
I thought I'd do that backwards, and try the cheapest option, without any other expectation than to see if that particular tone was for me. Enter Harley Benton Mini Stomp series, and guess what? I tried them and really liked them! The Rodent was the first of the series that I tried and like I said: Wow!
Now there are cheap pedals out there. Cheap pedals that sound great. Some of them are made out of plastic, seem breakable and look like they came in a Happy Meal, but these bad boys are in aluminum casings, and although they may look humble, they look like they'll last, and like I said, the ones I have tried sound great.
I'm going to order a few more of the Mini Stomps to see what other ones I like. I will have to come back about how long they last and so on, but that would be true about any other pedal, at any price range.
