Where to begin?
I have been reading a lot about Harley Bentons and the great instruments that they are putting out there at the moment.
So I thought i should give one a try.
I wanted a tele shape but whit humbuckers, so the TE-40 was my choice.
It's amazing value for money.
It's so good, it kind of feels like I have ripped someone off.
Sounded amazing.
And looked even more amazing.
When the honeymoon was over, was it still perfect?
Well, pretty much.
I would have liked to have the wood of the top more visible.
The gold hardware looks a little cheap, and to be honest maybe not quite so much like actual gold(but it still looks good)
The neck felt good when i got the guitar, and it has just got more and more comfortable as time has passed.
The overall finish then? Well, of course a guitar in this price range is going to have it's issues. This one is no different, the paint has bled over the binding at a few places. The top coat has a very smal chip in it at one place. And it looks like a few dust specks have been caught in the paint on the back of the guitar.
And i keep hitting the volume knob when strumming(but that's more a problem with my playing than the guitar.)
The pickups are nothing short of great! Through a tube amp it has a sound to die for, The pu's have just the perfect output for me.
What don't i like about it then? Is a magnet for prints since it's a high gloss finish, and i love the way it looks when it's freshly polished, and hate the way it looks after a few minutes of playing.
But that just the nature of the black and high gloss combination.
