Harley Benton DC-200 CH Student Series

I am fairly new to the world of guitars so you have to take that into consideration when you read this. As a beginner I do not want to spend a lot of money. I simply don't know if I will keep on playing for long enough to warrant spending 500€ or more on one single item. Also worth considering is at this price point there will be quite a variety in what you get (or so I assume)

Quality:
The frets was not perfect. They are not polished well and the edges were a bit rough. Bending the strings you will hear a scraping noise. Nothing that I did not expect at this price though.
Other than that the finish on the guitar is quite good and I could not find any flaws.

Sound:
This little bad boy sounds really nice. The neck pickup is perhaps a bit to dark for my personal liking but the bridge pickup is very nice.
On my example the sustain is very impressive, much more so than on any other guitar I have (all Harley Bentons). Overall this guitar has that rock'n'roll sound I was hoping for when I bought it.

Features:
The tuners are... well they are fine but nothing more. The tone knob I am not a big fan of. It feels as if nothing happens between 10-7.

Overall:
The guitar came very well set up for my taste. The action was just low enough and the intonation was perhaps not perfect but very close. I did however change the strings to Ernie Ball 10-46s. The guitar plays really nice and I am more than satisfied with it. The negative points are for me atleast not a deal breaker. This should serve as a good platform if you like to tinker a bit yourself as well. New pickups if you want a different sound. New tuners if you don't like these ones etc.
Out of the guitars I have bought this is the cheapest and also the one I enjoy the most. Funny how things turn out.

Jag använder denna för att lära mej spela gittar. Hade en fender kopia förut, men den fick min 8 åriga son. Använder dock ej någon förstärkare(än) till den, utan jag kör den genom en mixer och till Cubas 9.

Fördelar är att den är mycket billig för den kvalite du får. Den är mycket snygg och den låter bra.
Nackdelar är få, men det som kan vara störande är att jag antar att denna gitarr har ej någon sköld för oljud. Så man får lite oljud med i signalen. Finns dock lösningar på det. Den har lite hög action och det är svårt att undvika sträng oljud.
Ställskruvarna är okej, men ändå känns de billiga. Något som jag skall byta ut till bättre. Det är svårt att ställa in den tjocka E strängen, eftersom utväxlingen är för stor, så lilla minsta ändring ställer om tonen mycket.

Överlag så är det en mycket bra gitarr och jag ångrar ej att jag köpte den. Du hittar ingen bättre gitarr i denna prisklass.
Rekomderar starkt denna gitarr.

Det är nog en perfekt nybörjar gitarr, men man skall nog ändå veta hur man ställer in den. Vilket man ändå bör kunna om man skall spela gitarr.
