I got what I expected. Heavy guitar, chunky neck, the les paul sound. Looks stunning.
On the negative side, G string has tuning issues, I’m going to buy a string butler in plexi for that I think. The guitar actually had a minor scratch on the side when it arrived. Guitar case had definitely not been opened since factory, so I had to do a setup myself. The lacquer was a bit so-so around the nut.
But if i wanted something perfect I would have bought another PRS. I look at this guitar as a pair of jeans, it is only going to be better, and I look forward to the wear and tear on the glossy black paint.
The richlite fretboard gets 10/10 from me. Some fretboard oil on this and it goes pitch black. It’s smooth and feels nice.
I’m not a big fan of the stock pickups, but that a personal preference. Electronics-wise everything is solid and works well. Once I get a string butler I think I will have better tuning stability.
Neck is solid, frets are great.
I love this guitar, I don’t regret buying it and I would buy it again if I lost it.
For the price tag I wish Gibson had PRS quality in finishing. But as mentioned, I see this as a pair of blue jeans that is going to get some wear and tear.
Case is brown and purple interior, tuners where tulip shaped (not kidney), certificate was there and the custom badge. All good.
Delivery from Thomann was quick and smooth as always.
