With the Custom Color series, you get a decent 50s style Les Paul Standard for a lower price compared to the Gold Top and the Bursts. Some typical Gibson QC flows could be expected, as it is even with the higher end specimens from the Custom Shop. Mine had a high nut but this is nothing that a guitar tech won't be able to fix relatively cheap. The neck is not too chunky for a 50s style, but definately not Slim Taper either. Mine measures 22.3 mm at the 1st fret and 24.5 mm at the 12th fret but you could expect some variance due to not-so-tight factory tolerances. The Burstbuckers 1 and 2 sound awesome!
