I purchased this uke just to have something around to play unplugged. I wasn’t expecting much sound wise since I went cheap with the Fender Zuma, but honestly, even with low expectations, I was pretty disappointed with the build quality.
The frets stick out past the fretboard and are sharp enough to catch your palm or thumb when sliding. The sound hole looks like it was just drilled and left—no sanding, and there are splinters sticking out, which look and feel terrible. The bridge is just as rough, with sharp edges and glue visible both under the bridge and where the fretboard meets the body.
The action is super high and the neck is already bowed, straight out of the box.
All of this could have been sorted with an extra 10 minutes of care during assembly, but instead, it just feels like Fender slapped their logo on and called it a day. I’d definitely recommend looking at smaller, less mainstream makers who’ll put more love and effort into it—probably for the same price or less. This one really isn’t worth it.
