Fender Fat50C.Shop PU Set

these was the replacement for the ceramic pickups in my mexican strat. the sound is very nice, more typical “straty”. the hum is not that high probably as the pickups are not so hot. I’m happy with these pickups but that’ personal preference. very nice glassy cleans.

Had these in my USA standard which i got rid of and eventually brought a mex strat .. love the sound of these they sound like a strat should, not too ice-pick and have a good snarl when needed. A wee bit of noise but pretty quiet

the only issue i had is that oddly the screws contained in the set were thicker then the pickup holes, i solve this by opening these holes with an other pointy screw i was luckily to have .

i can image a situation where a nob would not be able to install the pickups because of the crappy screws.

Fender what are you thinking?

I got my hands on a second hand, made in Mexico Stratocaster.
I bought the guitar for the playability and looks, but after a while the sound simply bothered me, way too sharp and thin in any position.
So I decided to upgrade the pickups with this set and now guitar sounds like how a Stratocaster should sound. Certainly not the cheapest set, but it surely sounds warm and full now.
No regrets !

the sound is great plus I changes to thicker strings and it definitely sounds different and special.
