This is the most fluffly and softest mallet I've come across. And it is a lot bigger than you might think, between a Paiste M5 and M6 in size (weighs about 220g). This is a mallet for gentle coaxing so it can get tiring and difficult getting bigger gongs to sing. Definitely one to try, it's quite interesting to use.

I'm adding this to the review originally posted. This mallet works really well for hitting gongs hard, especially the centre and you don't get the heavy dull resonance you can get when hitting the centre. As a result, you can get tones from the gong that have a completely different balance. Giving it a full 5 stars now.

This Dragonfly RSFB-M Reso Fuzz gong mallet is great for getting deeper tones out of your gong. I like the fact that there is very little impact noise when using this mallet, just the deep booming tone from the gong.
I’m currently using this with my 80cm Sun Gong, who knew such deep tones could be produced by a Sun gong!
I like this so much I’ll probably end up buying another so that I have a pair of mallets.

Disappointed with Dragonfly Tam Tam

I'm wondering if anyone else is getting a rattle sound when the mallet strikes the gong - even when done very softly. I'm not sure if the one I received is flawed or if they are all the same. But I am very disappointed as I cannot use it with the sound I get back from it hence my one star
