The QX1622 is a nice small mixer that can be used for rehearsal rooms and might do the job for small venues as well.
What's good about this thing:
-Well built, absolutely sturdy
-Easy to use
-Built in Low-Cut and Compressor
-The built in effects sound great
I haven't tried the USB interface yet because it will only deliver a stereo sum of all the channels.
The only thing that could be added is another eq band for the upper mids/lower highs. Although its wonderful to tweak the mids from around 100Hz to 8k, this leaves you with only one band for the most important frequencies. Though this might be enough if you're just boosting a specific frequency, you might run into trouble once want to cutout some low-mid muddiness and enhance some of the bite in the upper mids. Yet 3 bands are the standard for this kind of mixers, so that's absolutely fine.
You probably won't get a better mixer in this price range.
